The cornet is much like the trumpet in shape and the mellow tone it emits when played. There fore you may find that many of the same companies that sell trumpets also feature a nice selection of cornets as well. The cornet is somewhat more affordable then the trumpet, and you will find them used in most music stores. Some of the more notable brands of cornet are Yamaha, Conn, and Holton.
I have found that depending on the brand that the merchant you can find used cornets for as little as $130, which is a steal!
